For candidates
Candidate Privacy Notice
Last updated: June 15, 2026
If you apply to a job through ApplyBrief, this is a plain-language summary of what we collect, who receives it, and the choices you have. Our full Privacy Policy has the complete detail.
1. Who Receives Your Application
When you apply through ApplyBrief, your application goes to the employer or recruiter who posted that job. That employer decides how to use your application and is the controller of your data for hiring purposes. ApplyBrief runs the application on the employer's behalf as a processor.
Your application is only visible to the employer whose job you applied to. We do not pool candidates across different employers or sell your information.
2. What We Collect When You Apply
- Your name, email address, and phone number.
- Your preferred way to be contacted (email, and where offered, SMS or WhatsApp).
- Your answers to the job's short screening questions (for example availability, location, or experience).
- Basic technical information such as your device and the link you arrived from.
ApplyBrief uses a no-CV application, so you are not required to upload a resume. Please do not enter sensitive details (such as health, government ID, or financial account numbers) unless a specific, lawful question asks for them.
3. Why We Collect It
To submit your application to the employer, let the hiring team contact you about it, send you transactional updates (such as a confirmation or interview reminder), and keep the service secure. Your phone number lets the hiring team reach you; SMS updates, where offered, are optional and never required to apply.
4. How AI Is (And Isn't) Used
ApplyBrief does not score, rank, or automatically accept or reject candidates. Your application is reviewed by a person at the employer. AI is used to help build the job page and content, not to decide your application. If this ever changes, we will tell candidates and provide the transparency and choices the law requires before any such feature is used in hiring.
5. How Long It's Kept
The employer decides how long to keep your application under its own policies and any legal recordkeeping rules. ApplyBrief keeps it to provide the service to that employer and as the law requires.
6. Your Rights And Choices
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete, or get a copy of your information, object to or restrict some uses, and withdraw consent. Because the employer controls your application, we may pass your request to that employer or work with them to answer it.
To make a request, contact privacy@applybrief.com. You can also reply STOP to opt out of any SMS messages and HELP for help.
