High-mix precision, not repetition
You will turn, mill and grind fluid-film bearings, seals and isolators for turbo and industrial machinery, across steel grades, copper, brass, aluminium and bronze.
The work is high-mix: custom designs, frequent changeovers and material variety.
- Read process sheets, blueprints and sketches to set up each job.
- Download programs from DNC storage, then read, edit or write CNC code.
- Calculate the right feeds and speeds for each metal.
- Inspect, finish and box the parts ready for shipment.
Customised bearings, seals and isolators in steel, brass and bronze.

Core skills, used daily
- Multi-axis milling, turning or grinding (Correa or Doosan a plus).
- Control systems like Fanuc, Mazak, Heidenhain or Haas.
- Holding tolerances under 0.0025mm.
- Precision inspection: micrometres, callipers, height and bore gauges.
- A time-served apprenticeship, SVQ/NVQ level 3, or HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
